2 Crazy Bold Predictions for Week 13!
Every Sunday morning our team of Rob Willette, Ryan McDowell, and Sal Leto bring you their Bold Predictions of the week. Maybe they are out of their minds or maybe they have the player that can win it all for you this week.
TJ Yeldon will have a 125 total yards and a touchdown
The Jaguars will be without starting RB Leonard Fournette, who was suspended for leaving the sidelines and throwing a punch in last week’s game against the Bills. This leaves the Jacksonville backfield a two-man committee with former Brown Carlos Hyde and pass-catching back TJ Yeldon. The latter had such a strong showing earlier in the season when Fournette was injured that he still ranks as a high-end RB2 for the season despite a diminished role in recent weeks. That makes the Jags’ trade for Hyde even more confusing. Since being acquired from the Browns, Hyde has been a role player, totaling just 93 yards in four games and failing to find the end zone in over a month. In this game that should include the Jags falling behind the surging Colts, Yeldon could be in line for a large number of dump off passes from new starting QB Cody Kessler, while there is little reason to expect Hyde to get things going even with likely increased volume. – Ryan McDowell
Five of the ten top running backs will all be players that weren’t starters when the season started
It’s been a long season of injuries (Gordon, Collins) and of course stupidity (McCarthy, Hunt) that has brought us to this point. A point where we have had to be quick on the waivers and free agent market to keep our running backs Corp afloat week to week. This week we have five guys that rank outside of the top 15 in running back points that will finish the week in the top 10. Aaron Jones finally getting lead touches will run all over a bottom three Cardinals defense, Gus Edwards continues his ground and pound on the always giving Falcons, Austin Ekeler will catch and run his way to a top finish against the Steelers D that has flip flopped from defending the run well earlier to being susceptible to it in recent weeks, Josh Adams has proven if he gets the touches he gets results and the Eagles season is on the line every week and that brings us to Spencer Ware, we know he’s capable of carrying the load and being a starter. He’s bided his time and today will be used in the Hunt role to demolish division rival Oakland. W – Sal Leto
