Bankster’s NBA 3-Point Play – March 12, 2019
Fanball’s NBA 3 Point Play

Did you know that on even a six game NBA slate, there are approximately 250 BILLION lineup combinations you can make? To be able to hit on the 1 lineup out of those combinations is harder than winning the lottery. A reduced player pool, though, can give you a significant advantage by reducing the possible lineup combinations you can make. If we limit our choices to only 5 players per position, you now have 400,000 possible lineup combinations you can make (pricing helps reduce this number even lower). Sure, that’s still a lot of lineup choices but it’s only .00016% of the total possible lineup combinations everyone else is working with. That is a SIGNIFICANT advantage for you if you’re choosing from a strong reduced player pool. That’s where we come in to help.
Bankster DFS, The Home of the Reduced Player Pool, has teamed up with Fanball to give you a daily sneak peak of three of the plays we have included in our Bankster DFS reduced player pool. We aren’t lineup sellers; we write full articles that explain which players we like, why we like those players, and how we like to build our teams. We are a learning site more than anything, and you can see that in heavy member interaction on our various Slack Chat channels (we have one for every sport that we cover – NBA, AAF, NFL, NHL, MLB, EPL, PGA, MMA, CBB, WWE, sports betting, and Best Ball 10’s). You can get the rest of our reduced player pool, our daily articles, our members only slack chat, and Fanball exclusives with a Bankster DFS membership. That membership costs only $2.99/wk and you get everything mentioned above with it; 10% of all membership fees are donated to Donors Choose (a site that funds projects for teachers and their classrooms). Let’s look at the 3 point plays for Tuesday, March 12…
From the Corner: Damian Lillard (POR – PG – $9,500)
This is a big game for both teams as both teams are making a playoff push with the top eight teams in the Western Conference separated by a mere 7.5 games. The game total here is over 230 points, while the spread is only 1.5 points. An even matchup like this means we have less of a chance for a blowout; a huge factor if you’re going to be paying for the one of the most expensive players on the slate. Dame averages about 7% more fantasy points against the Clippers (over 47 fantasy points per game) and could definitely push 50+ today. He’s usually good for a nice 40 point floor, but we saw just two games ago what Lillard’s ceiling is (70+ points if the game is back and forth). With so much uncertainty with some of the bigger names on the slate (KAT, Embiid, Luka, etc), the relative safety you get from Lillard is well worth paying up for.
From the Wing: Lauri Markkanen (CHI – PF – $7,200)
From the mouth of Phil Beneteau (@fantasyphilled), “Markkanen is always too cheap on Fanball. As it looks right now, Zach LaVine is currently doubtful for Tuesday’s game against the Lakers. We know that the Lakers are going to be monitoring their star’s minutes and we should see some of these young players for the Lakers. Markkanen has 60 point upside in this matchup, especially if LaVine is out. His usage numbers will allow him to hit a ceiling game tonight. We have already seen him have games with over 30 points and 17 rebounds.”
From Way Downtown:Gary Harris (DEN – SG – $4,900)
From the mouth of Zac Green (@okiecowpoke14), “His minutes are back to normal as they slowly put him back in action after his injury. Earlier this season he scored 17 real points against the Twolves and that was done while shooting 1-8 from 3-point land. He loves playing at home. We can also throw in the fact that Minnesota does not defend SG well. Oh, and the fact that Wiggins might be out again and KAT could also be out again as well. I expect this to also be one of the highest totals on the slate.”
On the Bench (Fade of the Day): Lou Williams (LAC – SG – $7,400)
While it would look like this is the game to stack, you probably want to avoid Sweet Lou in this matchup. He’s coming off a 60 point fantasy outing and that’s going to inflate his ownership a ton. Even if we like the matchup, that alone would be enough to have us look to pivot off Williams. As it were, we don’t like the matchup at all. Lou has struggled against the Trailblazers this year with an average of only 21 fantasy points across three games. That’s a 37% decrease from his average of 33 fantasy points per game. For a player in the $7k range that’s too much of a risk for us to take, especially if he’s going to carry a higher than usual ownership.
