Bankster’s NBA 3-Point Play – March 23, 2019

Did you know that on even a six game NBA slate, there are approximately 250 BILLION lineup combinations you can make? To be able to hit on the 1 lineup out of those combinations is harder than winning the lottery. A reduced player pool, though, can give you a significant advantage by reducing the possible lineup combinations you can make. If we limit our choices to only 5 players per position, you now have 400,000 possible lineup combinations you can make (pricing helps reduce this number even lower). Sure, that’s still a lot of lineup choices but it’s only .00016% of the total possible lineup combinations everyone else is working with. That is a SIGNIFICANT advantage for you if you’re choosing from a strong reduced player pool. That’s where we come in to help.
Bankster DFS, The Home of the Reduced Player Pool, has teamed up with Fanball to give you a daily sneak peak of three of the plays we have included in our Bankster DFS reduced player pool. We aren’t lineup sellers; we write full articles that explain which players we like, why we like those players, and how we like to build our teams. We are a learning site more than anything, and you can see that in heavy member interaction on our various Slack Chat channels (we have one for every sport that we cover – NBA, AAF, NFL, NHL, MLB, EPL, PGA, MMA, CBB, WWE, sports betting, and Best Ball 10’s). You can get the rest of our reduced player pool, our daily articles, our members only slack chat, and Fanball exclusives with a Bankster DFS membership. That membership costs only $2.99/wk and you get everything mentioned above with it; 10% of all membership fees are donated to Donors Choose (a site that funds projects for teachers and their classrooms). Let’s look at the 3 point plays for Saturday, March 23…
From the Corner: Joel Embiid (PHI – C – $11900)
From the mouth of Derrick Mcgough (@mcgoughderrick), “he has 70 plus fantasy points his last two games and is getting ready for playoffs. He is on fire and I have him as the highest scorer on slate going against a weak Atlanta front court. With the pace of this game he will be hard to fade.” This game has the highest total on the slate at 235 and a reasonable 8.5 spread, meaning the blowout potential is relatively low. A close game means more minutes for Embiid, and against a bad defense that’s never a bad thing. He’s well worth paying up for tonight.
From the Wing: Marvin Bagley (SAC – PF – $5900)
Bagley’s price is creeping up but so is his production. He’s averaged 28.5 minutes over his last two games and has returned a monster 43 fantasy points per game (1.5 fantasy points per minute). He is an extremely efficient player and this is a stellar matchup for him. The Suns run a fast pace and don’t defend; they are Atlanta West. When these two teams met earlier this season Bagley exploded for 46 fantasy points in 31 minutes. Even if he regresses down to 25 minutes we are still looking at a 40 fantasy point potential, which puts him in 6x range. He’s a great place to start if you’re looking for a balanced lineup tonight.
From Way Downtown: Justin Jackson (DAL – SF – $3000)
This spot was going to go to Quinn Cook, but then we saw Jackson’s price and immediately realized he was the superior option. Cook should have a nice floor, and in a potential blowout he could get garbage time run, but he lacks a significant ceiling. That play would be based far more in speculation, yet we’d be eating chalk on it. Jackson, on the other hand, has had actual value since Tim Hardaway Jr. was injured. In his last two games he’s played 33 and 34 minutes; recording 27 and 29 fantasy points. That’s a 9x return! If this game ends up in the same blowout scenario that we are counting on with Cook, Jackson should get that same garbage time run as a young player who needs those minutes. Jackson has a far higher upside than Cook, and quite frankly a higher floor as well. That he is the same price as Cook, and will carry half the ownership, makes him the player we are going to put our money behind.
On the Bench (Fade of the Day): Luka Doncic (DAL – SG – $9700)
Doncic been down the last few games from a fantasy perspective. Tonight should be Dirk’s last game at Golden State so Doncic may defer to him instead of trying to take over the game. He will most likely try and get Dirk the ball and play second fiddle. Even with Steph out, this game has a 16 point spread and if it gets out of hand there’s no way Doncic is going to get his minutes. He’s also been about 6% worse against GSW with less than 40 fantasy points per game against them in their three matchups. He is far too expensive to have this many questions. We don’t pay for floor games at Bankster DFS. There are better options on this slate for you.
