Elfrid Payton Keeps Gaining Momentum

New York Knicks point guard Elfrid Payton followed up his solid Wednesday's performance against Golden State with another good effort on Friday, recording a season-high 16 points, four rebounds, four assists, and one steal. He shot 7-for-13 from the field and had zero turnovers in 27 minutes of action. Frank Ntilikina posted another dud with two points and finished with a minus-22 rating, which was by far the worst on the team, so Payton might find himself in the starting unit sooner rather than later if he keeps his form going. However, the next matchup against the Nuggets isn't a pretty one. They are among the top defensive teams in the league and Mike Malone's team limited the Knicks to only 92 points just last week.

Mitchell Robinson Logs Productive 25 Minutes Off The Bench

New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson flirted with a double-double on Friday, finishing a 103-101 win over Sacramento with 14 points and nine rebounds. He missed only two of his nine shot attempts and ended up logging 25 minutes off the bench. Robinson hasn't lived up to his pre-season hype yet, but there have been plenty of positive signs as of late, especially after New York's coaching change. Robinson has seen more minutes, and he's been a regular double-double threat. He had one of his best offensive performances of the season on Dec. 5 against the Nuggets, who the Knicks will play again on Sunday. Only the Wizards have allowed more points per 48 minutes to centers this season.

Julius Randle Leads Knicks To Another Win

New York Knicks power forward Julius Randle played a key role in the team's 103-101 victory on Friday against Sacramento, finishing with 26 points and nine rebounds. He shot 10-for-17 from the field and 3-for-8 from downtown, while also dishing out four assists. Randle has now scored 20-plus points in back-to-back games and both have resulted in wins for the team. He's averaging a nice 18-8-3 for the month. Unfortunately, Randle gets a miserable matchup next on Sunday against the Nuggets, who are a top-class defensive team. They limited Randle to just six points in the first meeting of the season on Dec. 5.
