Gordon on wrong side of Questionable
With a matchup against Arizona looming and concerns with Gordon’s hamstring and knee, Gordon is on the wrong side of questionable for this week’s game. The Chargers would be wise to sit him out. The last game he sat, Ekeler played 42 of 44 offensive snaps. He had a poor fantasy day, but that will happen when your offense on plays 44 snaps. That is unlikely to repeat against Arizone. Ekeler is a strong flex candidate should Gordon sit.
At this point, it feels as though AJ Green will miss this game. This brings John Ross back into contention for dart throw status in your flex.
Tannehill is back
Ryan Tannehill is off the injury report and set to start in Week 12. He isn’t a very good streamer in his first week back unless it’s a superflex league or you are really hurting. The Colts matchup isn’t terrible though and the Dolphins may be passing from behind.
Devin Funchess hasn’t practiced all week and is now doubtful for this week’s game. That puts DJ Moore into play as a potential target hog. It also gives Curtis Samuel more flex potential than normal.
Jackson gets 2nd start
Coach Harbaugh has now confirmed that Lamar Jackson will be starting in place of injured Joe Flacco again this week. It’s a good matchup against Oakland and great timing for Mahomes and Goff owners.
Crowder hasn’t played for half of the season but was limited this week and draws a questionable tag. If he does go, Trey Quinn migt go back to the bench. He was effective last week and a trendy sleeper for this week.
Thompson out again
No surprise here, but Chris Thompson is once again out. Adrian Peterson and Kapri Bibbs will take up all the running back duties today, albeit behind a decimated offensive line and Colt McCoy at quarterback.
Tre’Quan Smith did not practice Monday or Tuesday but got in limited work yesterday. Keep an eye on the situation as he is questionable for today’s game.
Lions rule out Kerryon Johnson
The Lions have ruled out rookie RB Kerryon Johnson for their Thanksgiving Day game against the Bears. This is no surprise after Johnson suffered a knee injury that had some concerned could end his season. Johnson has been called “week to week” and could miss multiple games. The Lions are expected to use a committee approach to replacing Johnson with LeGarrette Blount, Theo Riddick and even Zach Zenner potentially seeing work.
Marvin Jones to miss another game
The Lions have ruled out WR Marvin Jones, who continues to recover from a knee injury suffered in Week Ten. Jones hasn’t even practiced since the injury. In last week’s game, WR Kenny Golladay saw a career-high 14 targets in his increased role with Jones on the sidelines.
Trubisky doubtful for Thanksgiving
The Bears have assigned QB Mitchell Trubisky a doubtful tag for the team’s Thanksgiving Day matchup with the Lions. Trubisky suffered a shoulder injury late in the Bears Week Eleven game. The team does expect to have Trubisky back for their Week Thirteen contest but he’ll be replaced by QB Chase Daniel this week.
Cameron Brate Back on Fantasy Map
One of fantasy football’s 2016 and 2017 stalwarts at the tight end position, Cameron Brate has taken a backseat to O.J. Howard in 2018. The front seat has been vacated following Howard’s season-ending injury, opening up the shotgun position for Brate in the Buccaneers’ high-powered passing attack. Howard’s absence opens up roughly five targets per game in the passing attack, and while it is far too simplistic to simply assign those to Brate, there is no doubt the Harvard product benefits from the opportunity. A player likely found on the waiver wire this week, Brate is back on the TE1 map for the remainder of the season.
