Charch's Week 14 Defense Rankings

The Bengals are as vulnerable as anyone right now. Jeff Driskel is in at quarterback, and now will be without his top weapon, A.J. Green. In Driskel's first start, Cincinnati's offense struggled as expected, surrendering four sacks, and three turnovers. Los Angeles is in the bottom half of sacks and fumbles recovered, but do rank in the top ten of interceptions. A matchup with the Bengals is just what the Chargers need, as their last three weeks have been very nondescript, totaling only three sacks and two takeaways. - Bradley Ylitalo (@BradleyYlitalo)    -   $3400

The Broncos are averaging three sacks per game in their last three games. Even more impressively, they're averaging 3.0 takeaways per game in that same span. Denver ranks in the top ten of sacks, interceptions, and fantasy points by a defense. The Broncos hot play will very likely continue against San Francisco, who allow the sixth most sacks, and are in the bottom five of fumbles lost, interceptions, and fantasy points allowed to defenses. The 49ers have surrendered seven sacks in their last two games and have multiple giveaways in three straight weeks. - Bradley Ylitalo (@BradleyYlitalo)    -   $3500

The Bills rank in the bottom half of fantasy points by a defense, but have been turning up the heat of late, averaging three sacks and 1.7 interceptions over their last three games. New York actually sits in the top half in both sacks and fumbles lost, but because of their 18 interceptions which rank tied for second-most, they surrender the sixth-most fantasy points to defenses. In his last three starts, Sam Darnold, who will return to action this week, has seven interceptions. - Bradley Ylitalo (@BradleyYlitalo)    -   $3200

The Raiders are a bottom five team against fantasy defenses, largely due to an offensive line that has allowed the fifth most sacks. In their last five games, Oakland has allowed an average 4.4 sacks and lost 1.0 fumbles, which now ranks them tied for fourth-worst in that department. The Steelers pass rush could make matters only worse for the Raiders, as Pittsburgh ranks number one in sacks. Their defense has cooled off just a bit in their last two weeks though, registering a total of four sacks and zero takeaways. - Bradley Ylitalo (@BradleyYlitalo)    -   $3300

The Bears defense will get all the love in this matchup, but the Rams deserve their fair share, as they rank as the second highest scoring fantasy defense. Los Angeles is second in recovered fumbles and tied for tenth in interceptions. In their last two games, the Rams defense has been at their best, with a total of seven sacks, seven takeaways, and a pair of defensive scores. The Bears sit in the bottom half of fumbles, interceptions, and fantasy points allowed to defenses. In their last three games, defenses are averaging 3.3 sacks, 1.0 fumble recoveries, and 1.3 interceptions against Chicago. - Bradley Ylitalo (@BradleyYlitalo)    -   $2900

Sunday nights contest will pit the top scoring fantasy defense against Los Angeles, who allows the fourth least fantasy points to defenses. The Rams are in the top ten of sacks and interceptions surrendered. They have been a bit more susceptible in their last two games, however, with a total of seven sacks allowed and four giveaways. The Bears rank in the top ten of sacks and fumbles recovered, and number one in interceptions. In their last five games, Chicago is averaging a very stout 2.0 interceptions, 3.9 sacks, and .8 defensive touchdowns. - Bradley Ylitalo (@BradleyYlitalo)    -   $3000

Nobody wants to play this Houston defense right now. In their nine-game winning streak, they're averaging 3.0 sacks and 2.1 takeaways. The Texans now rank tied for tenth in sacks, tied for sixth in interceptions, and in the top five of fumbles recovered. The Colts are in the top half of fantasy points allowed to defenses, and allow the second least amount of sacks. Indianapolis has been giving the ball away over the last two weeks, with at least one fumble lost and one interception in each of those games. These two teams played in week four, and Houston had their way, with four sacks and two turnovers forced. - Bradley Ylitalo (@BradleyYlitalo)    -   $2900

The Giants rank in the top half of fumbles lost and interceptions, but rank 20th in fantasy points allowed to defenses, because of an offensive line that allows the tied for third most sacks. New York's offense has been a lot tougher on defenses lately, allowing 2.5 sacks, and .5 turnovers over their last four games. Washington is in the top five of fumbles recovered and top ten of interceptions, mostly because of their dominant home defense. In six games, the Redskins have averaged 2.0 forced turnovers. Despite coming off a sackless Monday night performance, Washington still ranks in the top half of sacks. - Bradley Ylitalo (@BradleyYlitalo)    -   $2600

The Saints are a top ten defense because of a four-game surge in which their pass rush has been just unstoppable, averaging an amazing five sacks per game. New Orleans also has multiple takeaways in all four of those weeks, and an absurd five fumbles recovered in their last two games. The Saints are the last thing the Bucs need right now, who with 30 giveaways on the season, are by far the worst in that category. After eight straight games with two or more interceptions, the Bucs, and Jameis Winston, however, now have two consecutive interception-free games. - Bradley Ylitalo (@BradleyYlitalo)    -   $2800

Arizona is in the bottom twelve of takeaways, but has a pass rush to be feared. They rank tied for third in sacks, which brings them in the top half of fantasy scoring defenses. Arizona's front seven should have no trouble racking up pressure on Matthew Stafford, as the Lions allow the tied for ninth most sacks. Detroit also turns the ball over at the tied for ninth highest rate and allows the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing defenses. In the Lions last four games, they've allowed four or more sacks twice, and have three games with multiple turnovers. - Bradley Ylitalo (@BradleyYlitalo)    -   $2400

Seattle ranks in the top twelve of both fumbles recovered and interceptions. They have multiple takeaways in three of their five home games this season and also get their pass rush going at CenturyLink Field, averaging 3.2 sacks. The Vikings rank in the bottom ten of both fumbles lost and fantasy points allowed to defenses. In their last two games on the road, Kirk Cousins has two interceptions in both contests. The Minnesota offensive line has been playing more consistently, not allowing more than two sacks in any of their last four games. - Bradley Ylitalo (@BradleyYlitalo)    -   $3100

Buffalo has surrendered both the second most giveaways and second most fantasy points to fantasy defenses. They've allowed the tied for ninth most sacks, but, if it's any consolation for the Bills, have been playing better in their last three games. In that time, Buffalo has allowed a measly total of three sacks and three turnovers. The Jets are somehow still tied for tenth in fantasy points by defenses, as they are in a deep rut of uninspired play, getting only one takeaway in their last six contests. - Bradley Ylitalo (@BradleyYlitalo)    -   $2100
